We have the honor of hosting this year's Eight Winds Festival the annual gathering of ADF's Northwest Region. This year's event will be held at Shasta Camp, a recreational retreat "located eight miles west of the town of Mt. Shasta in the mountains of the Shasta-Trinity National Forest."

Accommodations
Rustic lodge accommodations and RV and Tent camping are available. Space is limited in the lodge, early registration is highly recommended. Children are welcome to attend the slumber party in the loft of the lodge every evening.

Amenities
Shasta Camp offers plenty of bathrooms and showers, A large mess hall and kitchen, a large worship circle, and miles of hiking trails on site or within the surrounding National Forest.

Auction
We will be hosting an auction during this event. Proceeds will benefit next year's event and Feather River Protogrove, ADF's land fund. Your winning bids are tax deductible.

This year we have several fantastic items available up for auction, including:

    * Beautiful apple wood Druid staff

    * Druid travel altar set (includes tree design box/altar, brass well, brass censor, 1 roll of incense charcoal, and a           small brass bell)

Children's Activities
There will be plenty of activities for children of all ages. Feather River Protogrove, ADF has always enjoyed the participation of children and we provide a full schedule of activities including: games, crafts, hikes, and educational classes. Please pack clothes that can get paint, mud, and clay on them. Children are also invited to attend the all-night slumber party in the loft of the lodge every evening.

Directions, Travel, and Transportation
Feather River Protogrove, ADF is offering a $10 per person rebate for all guests who arrive by carpool. Carpoolers are identified as more than one person who are not related and do not share a residence. You will receive your vouchers from the parking attendant as you enter the property and may redeem them at the registration desk.

To assist you in locating a carpool opportunity we offer a carpool match-up program. If you are looking for a ride, provide us with your flight information (day/time/place of arrival, flight number, number of passengers, number/size of luggage). If you have room to share provide us with your date/time/place of availability and how much space you have to share for passengers and luggage.

Additionally, if you are arriving early or leaving late we may be able to match you with a local member's household who can host you for the evening. If you need a place to stay please contact us early as these spaces may not last long. If you are local and have room to host an out of town guest, please contact us, additional rebates may be available.

From the Redding Airport
Start on Flight Ave going toward Airport Rd., Turn Left on Airport Rd.,Turn Right on Knighton Rd.,Take ramp onto
I-5 N, Take 2nd Mt. Shasta exit, The exit will dead-end on hatchery rd., Turn Left onto hatchery rd., The speed limit is 25 mph on this stretch of the road. As the Highway Patrol office is very close to this exit, they patrol it heavily, Follow the road around until you see Barr Rd. Turn Left Barr road will split left and right, stay right, Stay on Barr rd. It will take you over the bridge on Sisque lake, The road will curve sharply, JUST after it straitens out, look for the sign saying "Methodist Camp 5 miles", Turn left onto Castle Lake Rd. roughly 5 yards past the sign. It will appear quickly so Drive slowly and watch carefully for it, Turn left and go up the hill, When you get to the top of the hill, the road will split. Follow the road on the right, This will be Castle Lake Rd., After about five miles, you will see a sign on the right for the Methodist Camp, Follow the gravel road into camp; about a 1/4 mile from turn off, Just after the bridge and up grade the road splits, keep Left.

From I-5 Oregon
Take I-5 south, Take the 1st Mt. Shasta exit, The exit will dead-end on hatchery rd., Turn Left onto hatchery rd., The speed limit is 25 mph on this stretch of the road. From the Sacramento Airport
Go toward the airport exit on Airport Blvd., Take ramp onto Crossfield Dr. toward Service Areas/Service Area B/Garden Hwy, turn left to take tamp onto Airport Blvd., Take ramp onto I-5 N toward Woodland, Take 2nd Mt. Shasta exit, The exit will dead-end on hatchery rd., Turn Left onto hatchery rd., The speed limit is 25 mph on this stretch of the road. Entertainment
Bring your songs, poems, instruments, etc. and join us in a night of revelry at our Bardic Circle.

Pets
We welcome your furry friends. Well behaved pets on a leash are permitted. Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up their pet's droppings and are responsible for their pet's behavior. Failure to control your pet will shorten your stay.

Rituals
There will be at least three large rituals during this festival, the opening and closing rituals, as well as the main Unity ritual on Friday night.

All collected fees help defray the costs of this event and will be split between Feather River Protogrove, ADF and funding for future Eight Wind Festivals. RSVP early for a better rate. There is an additional charge of $ 25 for each non-member over the age of 18. Sorry, not refunds will be issued.

Meal Plan:
Includes 3 breakfasts, 4 lunches, and 3 dinners. Drinks include juice, tea, and coffee at breakfast, with lemonade and iced tea available all other times. For our dinners we will enjoy an Italian feast, a Mexican feast, and a Persian feast. For breakfast continental items and egg casseroles with potatoes, cheese, and veggies will be available. Lunch will consist of salad and sandwich bars with yummy homemade soup.

No RSVPs for the meal plan will be accepted after August 25th, no exceptions.

Special dietary needs may be accommodated with advance notice. Please notify us of any special diets or allergies you may have no later than August 25th or you may not be adequately accommodated.

Snacks, sweets, and sodas will be available for sale on site to benefit our children's scouting program.

Eight Winds Festival has limited space for vendors. Register here if you would like to have a booth at this festival, or, to pay by check, print out and mail your payment with the vendor application. Vending is $15 per day, per 10x10 booth.

Weather
Average temperatures range from 41°F  to 73°F although records of 27°C to 93 °F have been set. Rainfall averages about 0.03in to 0.04in a day this time of year but historical records have it at as much as 0.45in to 3.40in in a single day.

The weather of Shasta mountain can be unpredictable, pack accordingly. Bring clothes that are easily layered and bring wet-weather gear just in case.
